Scope of Specific Performance Remedy under CAL

Continuing the discussion from Cryptographic Autonomy License draft v1.0-Beta:

Do I correctly understand that the license attempts to pre-agree the equitable remedy primarily to ensure access to (unique) user data, but goes ahead and pre-agrees the equitable remedy for copyleft, as well?

Yes, that is correct.

Setting aside enforcement, a preagreed equitable remedy for copyleft violations goes where the FUD army said GPLv2 did, back in the day. It’s not just an injunction against further use, and potentially infringement damages. You may actually be ordered by a court to release proprietary source code.
